Healthy Hearts Launch Free Blood Pressure Checks

Healthy Hearts Launch Free Blood Pressure Checks

Locals in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea can get free blood pressure checks from Monday the 18th September 2017.

The free blood pressure checks are being made possible by Healthy Hearts, the local Cardiovascular Disease Prevention service owned by Thrive Tribe. The service recently received funding from the Public Health department of the council to help locals who do not know the condition of their blood pressure. The service will be available for the next two years.

Locals can get their blood pressure checked at:
– Healthy Hearts activities
– Library self-assessment centres
– By volunteers at events
– Local pharmacies

The results of the blood pressure checks will be immediate. Locals will also find out whether they are at risk of other conditions, and how to get the best support for their health during the sessions.

Andy Emerson, Head of Service for Healthy Hearts, said:

“Knowing your pulse and blood pressure levels are essential components in helping you to understand your health and enable you to engage with a whole host of wellbeing services. This programme allows you free access to advisory checks in a location within your community.”
